Backend Engineer

Job description

You want to build awesome stuff and have an influence on its architecture and outline. You also want to work with fantastic, dedicated people that like what they're doing. We do too.

Always bored at school, you started writing code before the age of 14. Programming is your lifestyle, inventing your favourite hobby. You blend curiosity and enthusiasm into the go-getter you are. Teeming with energy, you take on projects with confidence. You like getting knee-deep in stuff like code abstraction and backend architecture. You're so abstract in your thinking that you continuously see the recurrence in that what others see as coincidence. Clean structured coding is your trademark and you’d like to see the whole world coding in OO languages.

We do not care much about function titles. Coding Champion, Back End Developer, Master of the Universe: whatever floats your boat. We have a dedicated team that works on several challenging projects in our back end. Instead of continuously cleaning up other people's mess, you will have the chance to really build projects from scratch. No bullshit, just tangible freedom and responsibility right from the start.

You will join a team of over 80 passionate bunqers who’ve come from all over the world (13 nationalities and counting) to build something amazing together. Waking up with brilliant ideas and going to bed knowing that you’ve made them happen. That’s working at bunq.

What we offer:

• An opportunity to change the world with a young, lean company that’s growing fast
• A dedicated team that explores and expands beyond the cutting edge of IT, fintech and banking
• A great informal atmosphere
• The best food (and drinks!) to keep your engine running
The bunqr - our spacious office located at walking distance from train station Amsterdam Sloterdijk

Sounds like you? Hit the apply button and let’s talk!
